Me In A Nutshell
Hi there
Mmmmm interesting facts, well once upon a time I was a high flying nurse, then I made jewellery, then I went to work for Ikea! Had an accident at work and now I am disabled. I try to keep a smile on my face, though some days it will be a little lop-sided!
I knit and I love my garden, though more a gin and tonic gardener these days.....move this please, put that there....Head Gardener with no work! I had a henhouse erected on Aug 9th and now have laying hens, we started out with 3 but come Spring intend to increase to 5!.
I live in the UK, with my DH and our son. We also have 2 daughters, the eldest is a Marine Biologist and the middle child is a lawyer.

I love anything crime based, so CSI, NCIS are my top ones from the US.

I am here! Typing with just my right hand, the fingers aren't so sore today but I feel such an idiot. I reached into the top oven on Saturday where the grill is without looking! Instead of catching hold of the grill pan, I caught hold of the edge of the lit grill. My thumb is fine and so is my little finger, the other three have a line across the pads of the fingers which is indented and also 2 small round burns! What a wally!

Tim's (DS) girlfriend came around yesterday lunchtime, so Carey(DD) got to meet her. Carey wasn't impressed, so at least we now know its not just us. Tim and Lucy had lunch separately from Carey and me. Then Tim came through and said they'd do the dishes. Later after Carey had gone, I went into the kitchen to find yes he'd washed up but the dishes were just draining! I shouted up the stairs, when you say you are doing the dishes I expect them... -

Well this morning it was off to the doctors for a blood test. I say a blood test as that was what the doctor said, "a fasting blood test" Six vials later I am wondering what did I miss, a blood test to me is one vial, LOL. Back next week for the result or should I say results, hopefully I will find out what is causing the pain.
Yesterday I gave the hens some warm porridge as it was so very cold. It went down very well and didn't last... -

Tim(DS) went out last night with an old school mate who now lives in Stourbridge, so he was going to be stopping over. Great lad and never any trouble, recently split with his fiancee, so needed some cheering up! Off they went to Wolverhampton about 8pm, we weren't expecting them back until around 3.30am but left a light on downstairs.
Anyway at 3.40, I get up to go to the loo, light is still on and no sign of anyone having got home. Just dozing back off... -
Christmas Cakes

I have had quite a productive morning, 2 Christmas cakes are in the oven and should come out at around 1.45pm. It was a great feeling, cracking egg after egg, all our own, into them. Love the smell of spices as the cakes cook slowly through.

Its a much brighter one here today, Michael popped out the garden at 7am and let the girls out, as the sun was already shining. Yesterday they did get out the run in the afternoon but they weren't happy it was so windy, they kept going back under cover. Well I went to the Dr yesterday afternoon and got no real answers. I have to have a battery of blood tests done next month on the 10th, that's ASAP! No appointments with the nurse before that for blood tests. He thinks it could either be one of my meds causing the pain everywhere or else rheumatoid arthritis. As to the increase in migraines (which are supposed to get less once over 40 years), he says that's down to rebound headaches from using pain... -
Christmas Shopping

This morning I have cracked the main Christmas shopping. Really just have DH and DS to buy for now. Of course DH, says there is nothing he wants, whilst DS hasn't even used what he asked for last year! Perhaps I should just wrap those up again! Next job will be to start on the wrapping, not something I look forward to.
Then it was home to get the hens cleaned out. I think they were in a playful mood this morning. Everytime I opened the coop door...

Plus I was baptized their as a baby and confirmed when I was 12 as was my sister when she was 12 confirmed there.
I took my children there when they were small till we moved away from the area so we have a History with St John's Norway church that goes back a few years. Mother would have been pleased to know that the minister from St. John's Norway did her service for her.
The rest of the trip was horrible my daughter Carolynn showed no compassion for me at all it all was for my sister and her cousin. Who is my sister youngest daughter the same age as Carolynn they are from Aug 10th to Decemeber 7th apart. They were close growing up but they have had many differences over the past years and my sister has not been friendly with my Carolynn for along time now. They seem to have made friends with one another again which is good accept I was pretty must snubbed by all my family and both my daughters pick on me constantly about small things and told me I was a selfish woman and I needed to grow up and quit thinking about how my family treats me and tell them i am sorry for what ever tjry are holding a grudgr against me for.
i blew up severa times with my daughters and some very hurtful things were said to one another mostly me. My youngest daughter stayed in Ontario we flew out together but she stayed to see spend more time with family members and see some of her best friends while she has the opportunity as this is the first time she has been back to Ontario sinc we moved out to BC nearly 10 years ago now.
Me I have been back 5 times now to see my Mother and my sister and her daughter that is the same age as my Carolynn plus my Carolynn her ex husband and her daughter Camaria (my middle GDD) who is 17 now. Each time I have had a very cool reception from my sister. My neice was very friendly to me when I made my last trip in 2006 when my Mother was in the hospital with double pneumonia. They didn't think Mother was going to pull through but she did and survived another 3 years.
This time my neice was friendly but not like she was before and my sister spoke to me but only because I gave her no choice in the matter. So all in all I had a very disappoiting trip and will not go back again for a very long time if ever at all.
I came home to what has been a very tense situation the past few months with my GDD Dianna that lives with me. We had a disagreement over her cell phone which I took away from her. As she rang up a huge bill and told everyone her phone was shut off because her Grandma lied and didn't pay all the bill for her. Whuch was totaly untrue so she left home in a huff and is digging her heels in saying no I am not coming back to live with you I am a big girl now and can take care of myself. I am concerned for her and where ever she is living as she won't tell me but Christne I am so relieved to not have the daily rants and raves we used to have all the time because she thought she was 16 and could do whateve she wanted when she wanted to.
Well better close now it is nearly Monday morning here now it is 11;30 Pm PSR time Sunday nite here on Vancouver Island BC need to go to sleep have been on my lap topmost of the day trying to catch up with my grps and mail.
